I am one of the positive buyers. I have several different sizes. I would use one at least every few days. I have a box in the kitchen which I drop the used heat pack into and when I have enough of them, I boil them back to life. I have never had a problem with any of them not heating back up to the same as the first time and they always last around two hours. I also don't bother with wrapping them in towels etc, but I do boil them in a large good non-stick heavy based saucepan and have had no problems.
To MangaGal, I hear what your saying but I don't really understand. I have backpacked many times. If I am in the bush I certainly have a cooking device and pot and when I have booked into backpackers there has always been a communial kitchen. I have stayed in various levels of hotels and from my experience the staff would be happy to boil the item under your instructions (albiet I agree its a pain).
I probably had better luck than most of you, as when I bought my first pack, which was from South Melbourne market years ago, it was demonstrated to me including placing the heat pack in boiling water. So at least I knew what I was buying. Give them another try before you chuck yours away

I bought a combo of 5 of these packs and I love them. A couple of suggestions though, after the chemcial reaction, massage the material for a minute. This activates it even further and for much longer. Also, it is helpful to have more than one so that you can switch them out if you don't have one ready. But, 10 mins isn't long to wait. I am going to try putting them in a hot sink, that would be good too. I suffer severe neck problems and really hot moist heat is ideal. That is what these packs do. I use them and have no trouble.

Hi CC

Thanks for your comment. I think it's great that you find them useful. I only bought one medium size pack and my main purpose was that I could use it when traveling. I dunno many people who travel/backpack would carry saucepan and stove with them. I'm not complaining it's just this pack isn't practical for what I want to use it for.

Have a good day. :)

I bought a ShinBio Combo pack. It worked perfectly the first time and is still working well. I've had no trouble boiling it at all, and it was not a waste of money. Most of the people her complain about how its too much work to boil it, but for me it doesn't seem like too much work when I can use 6 heat packs then boil them all together.

Hey. Sorry to hear about your trouble. What does it says on the screen? After connected the USB drive, I also have to connect the controller with the USB cable. I follow strictly the instructions on the screen.

After it detected the software update, it would take a short while for it to ask you whether to install or not.

Let me know what does it say on the screen. :)

G'day Leanne

Thanks for the post. I've got the same problem. Got the same HDD as you and connected a USB drive with the 3.66 update on it and it still does not work.

Grateful if you have any ideas on how to sort it out.

Cheers

Yeah it can be a pain when you need a heat pack on a regular basis. I feel the same way as you towards these. :)

I also purchased these heat packs at the Vic market and have been very disapointed that they need to be boiled in order to be reused. It's too much mucking around having to place them in a large pot of boiling water. I wrap them in a towel before placing them in the water. I have used them no more than 4 times and find that the process is too much of a hassle. Unhappy customer!
