Day 05: Tokyo Disney
2 November 2006
Today, we spent the whole day at the Tokyo Disneyland. We started off early. We started out journey at 9am. We arrived at the Disneyland about 10:30am. We spent some time taking photographs with some Disney cartoon characters at the entrance compound. I didn’t take photo with Pooh and Mickey Mouse because the queue was long and closed. I went on two rides because the Disney was packed. We thought going on a weekday would have smaller crowd but we were wrong. The queues were long everywhere in the Disney.
At 3pm, we saw the first parade “Dreams on Parade”. After that, we waited more than an hour for the Haunted Mansion ride. It was boring for a 70-minute wait. We didn’t know we could get Fastpass, meaning you can cut queue if you have the Fastpass. Yeah, pretty unfair. Anyway, we stayed until 7:30pm to watch the night parade “Dreamlights”. But, to our disappointment, my mom’s video recorder ran out of battery. So, she couldn’t record the whole parade show. As for me, it was very dark at night. All of my shots are underexposed because stupid me forgot to check the exposure reading before shooting.
We thought of going back tomorrow but then we have spent a bit of money already and there are some places we haven’t visited. It’s OK. At least I was there to see the show. What a disappointment not to have taken any photographs of the night parade. (*It turned out, my camera was smarter than me. The night photos came out great.) Oh well… and a small girl came up to me to speak to me but unfortunately, I didn’t understand her. As soon as I spoke English, she went off. I felt bad but there was nothing I could do. She came out of no where and padded me on my arm. Oh dear… maybe she wanted to ask me something. Dunno!
