Yeah, I tried reheating in a sink in a hotel. The hot water tap has to be quite hot for it to work though. Yeah, refilling the sink is a bit of a waste of water. So I gave that up. ;) It's good to know it can be done though. Thanks for posting.

Just bought it, filled the sink with super hot water, soaked it, eventually it goes back to its original state. It's a chemical reaction that needs reversal, that is what the hot water does, making it boiling water just makes the process a little faster. I had to empty and refill the sink a couple times, but it worked, so as long as you're somewhere that there's a hot water tank, you're good.

Rock on, Joe. You did it. Good on ya.
I didn't realise there were 2 stalls. Well, I didn't spend a long time walking around anyway. I was visiting Melbourne. I'm based in Canberra. Anyway, thanks for the contacts. Although I'm tempted to get a refund but this was like 9 months ago. I don't even have the receipt anymore. Thanks anyway.

Hi again, MangaGal, just to let you know I got a full refund ($55 cash) from ShinBio this morning. I took the heat packs directly to Stall K at the Vic Market. I had to text the owners (Paul and Tommy) this morning, and threaten to refer them to the Victorian Office of Fair Trading before they replied. Spoke with a guy called Paul (his mobile is 0411 860 902), who approved the refund. You may be interested to know that there are in fact, TWO stalls at the Vic Market who sell this junk. I warned a woman at one of the stalls about the product and advised her NOT to buy them. You may also wish to email a guy called Tommy at tommy@shinbio.com.au. His mobile is 0403 269 255. You could say to them that I sent you their details and you need a refund as well. Hope this is useful. Cheers, Joe.

Hey MangaGal, thanks for the reply, and for the advice. I've asked the company for a full refund of the purchase price. Am yet to hear back from them. I suspect they may not reply, which will force me into taking action to recover the purchase price. Watch this space, as I'm not a happy consumer at the moment. Best, Joe.

Hey Joe, I think this product is definitely a dud like Helen said. It's no point keeping it because (you may have already found) it's not very re-usable. I suggest a gel pack from the chemist instead. I recently went to New Zealand, knowing that taking the wheat pack with me will mean I can't take it back inside Australia. So, I got a gel pack instead. Just make sure the gel pack can be used in a microwave and watch how hot you heat it up. It would burst if you're not careful (where my stepdad found out the hard way). Hope this helps. ;)

MangaGal has nailed this one perfectly. A great idea, that is poorly executed. Great for the first use, and a pain in the bum for any further usage. We are struggling to figure out how to continue using the pack without wasting water. Frankly, I would not recommend this product to anyone who is looking for any easy to use and re-use heat source for aches, and pains.

I never tried the second time to be honest. It just sits in my closet cos I find them troublesome having to boil them again. Thanks for the heads up though. Really interesting. :)

I bought two Shin Bio heat packs at the Home Show on Friday night. 9th April 2010. Whilst I understood you had to boil them up after use, what has made me cross is that they do not return to the heat demonstrated on the night. The first time you use them, they are very hot and the heat lasts for 1-2 hours. But, when you use them next time, they heat to about 20% of the original temperature, which lasts for around 15-20 minutes. I imagine that by the time I've heated them up a few times, they will be cactus.

A dud product - don't buy them.
